Belvès and surrounds

The workshop is held in our home in Belvès, a 13th-century fortified bastide town in the Dordogne’s Périgord Noir region, classified as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France”. Perched on a rocky spur overlooking the Nauze Valley, it is renowned for its medieval architecture, seven bell towers, a 15th-century covered market hall, and ancient troglodyte dwellings.

The Dordogne is home to rich history, culture, and cuisine.  Medieval castles dot the countryside, ancient towns and villages feel like stepping back hundreds of years, and restaurants and cafés offer ultra-fresh local fare.

Included in the retreat will be three afternoon group outings to nearby attractions, chosen based on feedback we receive from folks who register. We encourage you to consider arriving a few days early or staying a few days after the workshop to give yourself a chance to explore more. There’s a lot to see!
